The film opens in the cemetery of Aracena in Andalusia with the somber funeral of Jorge De Las Rosas, Alice's late husband. Little does Alice know that Jorge, burdened by debts, has orchestrated
his own disappearance. Jorge's elaborate plan involves staging a fake suicide during a cruise ship voyage, leaving Alice and their daughter Julia behind in a state of despair.
Unbeknownst to Alice, an insurance inspector discovers Jorge's secret in Morocco. The inspector uncovers evidence that Jorge escaped from the cruise ship, alive and well. As the truth begins to
